Edinburgh

We stayed at the flashest hotel just out of Edinburgh for our third night. It was amazing, beautiful old grounds with gourgeous gardens and all the amenities. We had dinner at the 'casual' restaurant (there was also a flash option), and only spend £30 for mains, sides, dessert and drinks. The best meal we had both had in ages and it was incredibly cheap ! There was an easter special which included a huge buffet breakfast the next morning with all the trimmings. Neither of us wanted to leave as the staff were so friendly (we had forgotten what this was like as everyone is so grumpy in England), our room ensuite were gourgeous and we were treated like royalty. The only downfall was having to bring our 'packs' through reception with some of the guests staring because we looked like backpackers and very out of place at this lovely hotel.

Edinburgh castle where we spent the morning before driving 5.5 hours to our B&B in Grantham, Nottingham.
