This is the bike we nicknamed "The Lemon," for some expensive reasons. Soon to be on trade me we thought we'd better take some snapshots to remember it by. Damn I look hot!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Milford Track (belated)

Even though I did this track with my family in November I thought I'd put some pics up as most of you probably would've have seen any yet. It was a 55km (33.5 miles) walk over four days (really only three, the first day was only a 20 minute walk !). The scenery was absolutely amazing (I used up my whole memory card!) so it was quite hard picking just a few to share with you. The big picture on the left is of McKay Falls, we saw so many waterfalls but I thought this one was definately the most beautiful. The track itself wasn't as hard as I thought it would be with only one very difficult day (morning spent climbing uphill to McArthur's Pass - picture shows the Mum and I at the spot with the highest alitutude - and the afternoon spend all downhill). We went on the guided tour rather than the freedom walker option which meant we were with a group of about 50 people and 6 guides. (most people on the walk mum and dad's age but all the guides were my age) This was great fun because we got to meet so many great people, quite a few who we've seen since the walk. Our packs were only about 7kg's and all our food was cooked for us, not to mention a cold beer and a hot shower waiting for us at the end of each day. Was an absolutely fantastic holiday, great family bonding time and the best scenery I've ever seen (when walking up in the mountains I felt like i was walking in Lord of the Rings !!), definately recommended.

COOKS BEACH 06

The family did the usual trip down to Cooks (we have been going there most years since I was about 6), this year without Ange. Geoff came down for the weekend and Chris had a few friends and his girlfriend Teri stayed most of the trip so it was cool getting to know her. Unfortunately it rained for a lot of the time I was there but Geoff and I managed an afternoon at Hot Water Beach. We had the Van Tiel's (family friend's who have a batch at Cooks) over for a compulsory tequila shot (the picture shows Eric, Nic, Dad and Teri doing theirs.) and a fair few bottles of wine. Also spent some time at Whitianga, Chris, Teri, Geoff and I hired a four person bike for half an hour, was a great workout although I think the boys did most of the work !!!!! Mum and Dad had some friends from England we met on the Milford Track to stay a few nights so that was fun too. We had the traditional pizza's on the BBQ (chris makes the dough and we spend the good part of the morning preparing the toppings for a devine lunch!).

Nikki and Phil's Wedding

Nikki and Phil exchanged their own vowels in the St Kent's chapel Sat 21st Jan. Nikki's dress was stunning and both of them were glowing. Was a lovely ceremony with afternoon tea afterwards which I unfortunately couldn't stay for. (For those of you who don't know Nikki I went to high school with her)

Nikki's Hen's Night

Started off with dinner at Soul in the viaduct with about 20 girls. Nikki, as always, looked gourgeous. After dinner the games began. Nikki's first task; she had to get a male from a neighbouring table to put on a sparkly g-string (provided by one of the bridesmaids) and give her a peck on the cheek. Nikki looked a bit embarrassed when he decided to drop his pants to put on the g rather than over his trousers. Was a huge laugh !!!!

New Years Eve

A fairly quiet new years eve this year. Started off with a BBQ in the arvo where piggy Geoff ate too much steak and got a sore stomach so he stopped drinking about 8. Was strange not going away but almost all of our friends were in Akl too so was fun. Went to the EMPIRE for countdown. There was a band so had a boogie and a few cheeky wines. Topped the night off with Chinese chicken and corn soup on the way home about 2am.
