Disneyland

I have uploaded another video which is at the bottom of this post - dancing scooby.

Above: Geoff drying off in the sun after Splash Mountain.
Below: Splash Mountain

Below: This is a video of our ride on the teacups which was hilerious !

Universal Studios

Above: Geoff and one of the cars from The Fast and the Furious movie.

Above: Me and Mr Bean's car

After Shrek 3-D ride / movie.

During the studio tour we got to drive down Wisteria Lane from Desperate Housewives which was pretty cool. Unfortunately as you can see I was sitting on the wrong side of the tram !! Here is one of the houses, I think Gabriella's ? They were actually filming an episode while we were there but saw no stars.
Above: Set from War of the Worlds after the plane crashed. I should've looked away as we also saw the plane crash, I really hope I get a seat near the middle of the plane on the way home as they were the only seats undamaged !

Above, the end of the Jurassic Park ride, they were selling ponchos for us to wear but Geoff and I decided to just get wet ! And we did !
Geoff and I spent the day at Universal Studios which was heaps of fun. A mixture of rides and shows and we got to do everything, our favourite rides a few times. This is obviously the perfect time of the year to visit these themeparks as it's the low season and we didn't have to wait in line longer than 10 minutes for anything. Perfect !

Day Trip to Hoover Dam (Arizona & Nevada)

Hoover dam taken from the bus (hence the slight reflection). The only angle where I could get the whole thing.

Geoff and Lake Mead. Taken from the top of the Dam.

Vagas Baby !!!!

This is the very first sign on the strip of Vagas. I can't remember who designed it and when but it was before Neon lights had been invented and this is the original sign entering visitors into the city - possibly the most famous sign in Vagas.

For our last night in Vagas we watched the Pirate Show at TREASURE ISLAND. Below are some of the cast members. The show was pretty cool and involved lots of pirotechnics, a sinking ship and a finale of fireworks.

One of the many happy couple's we saw that got married in Vagas. Don't worry Mum, I wasn't even tempted !
Taken from one end of the strip. New York New York is on the left, opposite is the MGM. You can also see Paris Las Vagas in the distance on the right hand side.
Frozen Margeritas !
Circus Circus (above) is where we stayed. It was on the main strip but away from all the main casinos so we had to catch taxis downtown as it was too hot to walk (around 43 degrees calcius !). The casino / hotel was massive and had a theme park, circus area, a few restaurants and bars, an oxygen bar and aqua massage area and shopping area.

Geoff throwing a coin over his shoulder at the Trevi Fountain replica in CESARS PALACE which was Geoff's favourite casino. Thought we better take some pictures as when we were in Italy we didn't get a picture of the Trevi Fountain as we were too busy finding the recommended Gelati shop !
Geoff in LUXOR Casino, the entrance was very impressive. On our second night we saw a Comedy Show called CARROT TOP which was possibly the funniest show I've ever seen! The above photo is the front entrance of the LUXOR, behind it is a big black pyramid which unfortunatley at the time had a big advertisement for Absolut Vodka.

My big winnings in Vagas !! High rollers we are not.
Sign in our taxi to the bus station leaving Vagas.

We spent three nights in Vagas and absolutely loved it !!! I was completely seduced by all the pretty lights and the fantasys that each casino offers. Each casino was like a city in itself and you could easily spend half a day in each one. Had to refrain myself from putting pictures of every casino on the blog ! We even went to one bar in MGM where all the bar staff danced on the bar a few times an hour. Sad to leave Vagas as I loved my time there but onto California after a 6.5 hour coach drive. A bit of a waste of a day, but as Kelly says, at least you can't spend any money if you're sitting on a bus !!

New York, New York

Central park where we chilled and listened to a fab jazz band for the afternoon.
We hired a dingy and rowed around the lake in Central Park for an hour.

Empire State Building from Rockerfella

At the top of the Rockerfella Centre

We auditioned to be members of the audience for one of David Letterman's Late Show. We won tickets and spent the afternoon watching one of the tapings. Dr Phil was one of the guests, was pretty cool !

Me and my 'supercool' poncho - it rained half the day during our bus tour.

Chinatown

On the Statten Island Ferry. In far distance if you use your magnifying glass you may see the Statue of Liberty. It was such a gloomy day that none of our photos came out very well.
View of New York from the Statten Island Ferry.

Me on Wall Street.

Ground Zero, we were here 8th September and they were getting ready for the memorial services the next day on 9/11.

A typical manhattan apartment. This particular street (can't remember the name) is used lots for TV sitcoms such as Friends and Seinfeld.

I just had to include this picture as it makes me laugh everytime. Geoff has been looking forward to his first Wendy's meal since we left NZ. This picture was taken on our hop on - hop off bus tour and the tour guide was pointing out something in the opposite direction but saw Geoff oggling Wendy's so had to take this snap.

Empire State Building.

My first of many frozen margerita's ! They are a very popular over here.
TILES FOR AMERICA
We found this wall on our first walk around Manhattan the day we arrived. It is tiles to remember the people who lost their lives on 9/11. The tiles arrive from all over the world and are continually replaced as new ones arrive.
