Wicked

Last night I went along to the musical 'Wicked' with Rene, Courtney, Kelly and Jen. The show, dancing, lighting, costumes and voices were absolutely amazing! The storyline really suprised me as well, it was a very strong storyline and kept you interested the entire time. It told the background of the good witch (Glinda) and the Wicked Witch of the East from Wizard of Oz. It was extremely clever and you got to see who the lion, scarecrow and tin man were, before they got spells cast upon them. Highly recommended!

ITS SNOWING !!

As I walked to work, I couldn't resist taking some more pictures as the snow looked beautiful. I looked like a complete tourist !! Everyone was in such a good morning this morning because of the snow, I even got greeted with a bowl of chicken soup to 'warm us all up' (yes at 8.30 am !). I have all my fingers and toes crossed it snows again tonight!

This morning we got greeted with snow when we woke !! It was enough to get Geoff jumpring out of bed and we went outside to take some pics. Such a huge novelty!

Somerset House

Sunday night Geoff and I headed to Somerset house (which Mel so kindly organised), it was so much fun. I have only tried ice skating once before and hated it so was a bit nervous to start off. Geoff pulled out the tricks he learnt from rollerblading so was a pro! Managed to skate around for most of the 1 hour session and didn't manage to bail once (although was holding Geoff's hand almost the entire hand as I couldn't balance by myself). Had an awesome time, despite disliking ice skating this was one of the things I really wanted to do over the winter and had a great time (except for when Geoff got some powder ice down by back !!!)

Natural History Museum

Tanz and I spent Saturday looking around the Natural History Museum and the Science Museum. So many interesting exhibits to look at, great free day for kids and adults. I think my favourite part was a ride on the simulator (like the one at Rotorua or similar to motion master at Rainbows End) where we went on a 'roller coaster ride in space' where we got the uncontrollable giggles!!!

Phoebe's 25th Birthday

The 15 of us outside 15.
The girls (Rene, Phoebe, Tracey, Me and Georgie)

To celebrate phoebe's birthday, we were all up at 7.30am for champers with strawberries, and birthday cake. Then we all went along to Fifteen (Jamie Olivers restaurant) for breakfast. Food lovely - best poached eggs I've ever had. Than a bit of a shop down Carnaby Street and home.

Valencia

Our kooky hostel. Waking up to this with a hangover is as bad as you would expect!
The city has some amazing bridges.

The markets in Valencia. They are very big on meat over there. All the meats are displayed like this, even in the supermarket. The worst thing is they still have the hooves attached !!! Also whole dead chickens in the chillers. At one of the supermarkets I saw a butcher carrying a whole dead, skinned piglet through the aisles to the deli. ew!
Puente de los Flores - a famous bridge in Valencia, every month of the year it is covered in flower of a different colour. It was red in December and stunning !!
